I intend to be back properly after my move. So probably around the 18th. I'll be able to squeeze the coronation event in next weekend, but then it's go time for the move. Getting deathly sick killed all my plans and now that I can see clearly again I have to finish my college science class before we move. Then I can come back regularly to Amia.

So I'll see you soon for regular shenanigans!

Honestly I'm a butthead. I told the team of my busyness but I diddnt post here. Between Christmas markets, 3 family Christmas, day job, side job, wife's company, school and studying, my last month has been pretty well chaos. Sorry about that guys!!! But Christmas is over for a year and I take my test on Wednesday. So I should be back to a semi regular playtime schedule later this week!!!!

Hey friends and fam!

So sadly the holdidays and the plans i had wished to complete did not go as planned. I failed a pretty substantial test and that shows to me that I really need to buckle down on studies and such. Balancing work, being a dad, studies, and being a super awsome fun and exciting dm is too much for my potato brain to handle, so one has to go sadly.

Sorry I wasnt able to finalize any southport election stuff, I was kindof enjoying the future plotting i had for it, even though there was minimal interest at this time lol.

To Wiltun! im sorry my dear friends for having to go from the topside for you. you all are literally amazing players, and the absolute easiest faction / settlement to dm for. I love and adore you all. I will miss our shinnanigans and the various accents I produced for your different npcs.

I will still be around playerside, as there are times when i need to shut brain off, so this is not goodbye, just a step down.

Hey gang,

The holidays have taken a toll on my playtime and especially dev time. I'm still trying to manage real life and find the inspiration for jumping back into Amia. So in the mean time, I think it's only fair that I step down. Thanks so much for letting me have the opportunity to build stuff for this wonderful little pocket of D&D. Until next time!

I know I just returned from my break, but I just have to step back. I'm not mentally, physically, or emotionally in a good enough place to deal with the stress that comes with all this. Stress in fact exacerbates my health condition. So I'm stepping down as DM, but I'll stay on as a Dev, as that's something I'm heavily involved in and I feel leaving that would be detrimental to the server. I'll also be a Request Handler so I can still help players get their DMIGs delivered.

I will also no longer be Site Admin or a server owner. So if you have any issues with the website or something, just send the details to the DM Team or post in Tech Support.

As a third, I'll be stepping down. Sorry to Wiltun folks and the Grove, even if I didn't even get to start on anything. I'm just not in a good headspace to be devoting time to Amia. Thanks for having me on the team, and sorry that my stint was short lived. I wanted to do a lot more, but there's just a lot going on for me right now.

I've had a lot of encouragement from many players over the last week and they have helped me decide that I won't step down from DM'ing. So many of our players are just so sweet and supportive, so thank you.

I'll be making up that thread on personal plots again, so keep an eye out and reach out to me if you want one!

Note: I still won't be admin/owner anymore, so still post any issues you have in Tech Support or send to the DM group.

I'm going to be taking the next week off (aside from the Relic Hunt on Sunday) to give myself some extra rest time. Being sick hits me really hard and I forget how hard sometimes. So I'm just going to take it easy and stop trying to push myself. I am sure that will be enough time, though! I'll be back next Friday with an event in Nes'ek, where the locals are calling for help!

Okay, everyone! I'm going on my break now. The rest of the DMs are all aware of what happened in Cetha (I took good notes!) and will be about to help with anything you guys wanna do. Investigations, involvement, shenanigans, whatever. It's pretty ripe for the plucking, as there was no heir to the throne! Mwahaha.

I will be signing off as DM for a while until after I've recovered from my surgery. I'm not sure how long it'll take, but here's hoping it's not long!

Hey all! I have tried to battle RL and been....somewhat successful. I'm on official leave for the next week as I settle into my new job. I'm hopeful after that (and having been VERY sick for the last week) I will be able to return.

If not....well, I guess we'll see.

My inbox and DMs are still open for ideas for the server that I can pass along in the meantime.

I'm stepping down as a dev. Life has been hectic since my daughter was born and I want to save my Sundays for family time. I'll be there to finalize the warlock update when the back-end is sorted for it and if the team still wants me to do it - sorry it's taking so long but it's not up to me. I might reapply later if I feel like I have the time for it.

I am returned! A teeny bit later than expected, but that's okay. Surgery went well and recovery is going even better. My little scar is cute. xD

I had a run-in with thyroid cancer, which they found only after my thyroid was removed. So far everything looks good and I don't have any other cancer markers, so we're pretty optimistic that we caught it super early, enough so that we removed it all before it could spread.

So I'll be easing back into things, and I already have many ideas and plans both as Dev and as DM! So keep an ear out, my lovely internet family!

Staff Overhaul

Hello, everyone! Amia has just finalized a full staff overhaul. You will notice in the Team List that every staff member is listed together, alongside members of Staff who are shown as Away (officially off-duty). The Staff has been fully consolidated, and is able to choose which Staff duties they wish to perform (DM, Dev, Request Handler, and Tester). You can see the full outline here on the Staff Information Page (click the second drop-down), but I will note a few important differences:

DMs will no longer handle requests. Request Handler duties have been expanded to answering and approving requests, alongside being able to log in and deliver them.
Head DM and Lead Dev will no longer be in charge of Staff-related discipline or conflict-resolution. They are simply there to maintain organization, inspiration, and communication among Staff, and have no player-facing duties otherwise.
All members of Staff will be involved with Staff-related issues, so you can send any complaints or concerns you may have to the full Staff group, or to any individual member of Staff, dependent on your own comfort level.
Staff members are able to have multiple duties (so those with DM duties can choose to also do Request Handler duties, for example), but they will still have to adhere to the expectations and requirements of each one.

We hope that this will enhance our ability to help and facilitate everyone more effectively! You can see the full list of which Staff Members have chosen which duties in the Staff Information Page sorted by duty. This is the full list sorted by Staff Member:
