Escaped Experiments

A shrill scream could be heard into the night from Southport East by anyone nearby,

Adventurers came to investigate the commotion and found a scene outside the sewer grate, The cleaner Malcer was trembling in fear before several guards and the general Terrence Kelter. The cleaner had spoke of scuttling creatures that had appeared from the many corridors and taken refuge in the sewers.The adventurers that had come to investigate where tasked with inspecting the immediate area in the sewers while the city guard maintained watch over the remaining grates and ensured nothing ventured up into the city. The general and the adventurers delved into the sewers to find many.. many spiders, all of which recently hatched and looking to feed. They cleansed the entire sewer network before finally confronting the Brood Mother, a towering spider of gigantic size. The creature appeared to be en-spelled with powerful magic and exhausted after laying its eggs all through the sewer network.. a fortunate turn of events for them. The adventurers cast spells of dispelling which appeared to strip the creature of its powers and render it vulnerable eventually dying in their wake out of sheer exhaustion from its recent ordeals.

It was obvious that this creature was not naturally occurring and en spelled with powerful magics, the mystery remains where did this creature come from.. and who had created it?

The young Ilmateri priestess who aided the investigation into the sewers was seen in the chapel of Ilmater in Southport not long after the alarm had settled down. She had given the Sewer Cleaner Malcer all her supply of anti-venom potions to distribute among the sewer cleaners and guards who were posted to guard duty over the sewer entrances on the surface of the city and now she needed to restock. And even though she seemed to have felt bad for the poor creature, its suffering was short-lived, though perhaps it would have been kinder to put it to the sword than to subject it to the myriad of dispelling effects in an attempt to return the creature to its natural state. Of course it was too late for such thoughts now. She continued well into the night to restock her potions, curious to see what might come next.
