The Good Vibes Thread
The Good Vibes Thread
This thread is for saying random positive things. There's been a lot of negativity going around lately and I think the current state of the world is not helping things. So let's have a thread for good things, whether that be random encouragement, praise, ideas, thoughts, compliments, or whatever, throw it up in here. Call it an exercise in optimism. And ONLY positivity from this point on!
I'll start off by expressing that I had to curb my own enthusiasm for the hak update because all the stuff I wanted to add was simply taking too much of my time. xD I gathered up probably forty folders of new stuff and was going waaaay overboard. Mav told me to chill and do like 20 things at a time. It turned into like 300 anyway, BUT STILL. Haha! I'll have more goodies for you guys in January!

Can't believe Mav would try and ruin your good vibes smh!
The HAK update has some many cool ~~not completely ripped out of other games at all~~ models that I'm excited what's gonna be cooked up with them!

I enjoy watching the other Amia mages/arcanists etc. from a distance when they do cool stuff, it feeds my own inspiration so I'm always stalking around the Requests thread and occasionally their posted journals/ diaries in PC stories.
Jes' recent request for her warlock has just inspired me to work on a request for silly (and cool) Transmuter gimmicks because while Sui'aerl isn't one to show off, Naltyrr definitely is.

So i've been across the isle, and poking my nose in a lot of business Icly. And it is great to see how receptive people are, and welcoming at least for people to get involved in their stuff!
I'd highly recommend, if you think your stuck on a character, or even a new player, worming your way into one of the meetings on the events page. Great to meet new characters, and see how they work for your own character. Helps create goals, tensions and the sort.
I've actually really enjoyed playing Yatari, and pretty much every interaction she has had. Whether it turned out good, or bad for her. So thank you to the server as a whole for brining fun my way! Here's hoping I can bring it back your way.

I just love the community as a whole, and I’ve met a lot of people ICly in this game who I consider OOC friends now. Love the DM team who put out great content both ICly and in their role as DM/Dev. Thanks guys.

I attacked Ashar. That was nice. :^)

It's nice seeing both Elven stuff happening again as well as an increase in the tree hugger population... though they do seem to be linked!

I missed that? Please tell me you have screenies!!!!
As for the OP's post.... Bravo Zulu. I simply adore this thread Jes. I just want to say a very heartfelt thank you to all the DM's as well as the players, and DM's who are going about with Seras new path. This is certainly the biggest request I have ever made and was really thinking it would be immediately shot down. I mean cmon, evil mage turns into a good guy? No way! Though the team as well as the players have been very receptive to Sera. Some people might wonder why its taken Sera so long and I will just put it here.. I asked for it to not be an instant thing. This sort of change should take time and everyone agrees. I am so overjoyed I can not express it in words. High Priestess Killinanah even made me cry, and to me, thats a HUGE compliment to the DM behind the NPC.
Now I'm someone who has been here off and on since like..... Shite... 2007.. WOW. I have seen this server in its ups and downs.. I must say.. This team we have... Is the best we have ever had and Amia is in a great place right now. Can some things be made better? Yes! As with all things. DO we have a DM team who is receptive to this, heck yes! And they are awesome!
Now then... Onto to real ones who make the server what it is... The players.
I have seen some of the best storytelling in the last few months than I have for a very long time. You guys (the players) are the sticky glue that holds Amia together. Keep coming back guys, keep telling those awesome tales.
All hail house Un-Mirth!!!!!! Sorry, had to!

Re: The Good Vibes Thread
I'm really loving how many merchants are around now! And I can definitely see the market adjusting to the new supply. It's no longer paying a bunch of gold to just one or two people who happen to have everything, and if one of those merchants don't sell to your kind of character (hah, like Luckii!), you were SOL.
But now? All sorts of people are selling good wares that're much more affordable then they've ever been, and much more available! Plus merchanting is fun, it's generating more RP, and everyone is benefitting in some way. That's a really cool change to see.

Unlike cheap lasagna, Amia is 100% horse free! Nevermind.

Yeah, Ashar and I meme each other. And agreed. It's good, and there are things that can still improve in terms of overall transparency and finding better ways to let individual players feel like their pc can matter. But it's definitely at the best it has been. The Doctor wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 2:51 pmI missed that? Please tell me you have screenies!!!!

Re: The Good Vibes Thread
I'm just.....amped. At all the new blood, new attitudes, gimmicks, quirks, and just all the....new. I've loved amia from day 1, 7? Years ago. My time has drastically changed for availability IG in that 7 years, but my love for th place hasn't. But EEmia is new, and exciting, and eventful. Sure theirs frustrating times, but thats what keeps you interested.
I watched W/S brawl out last night. And Zoltan bomb in with an npc nuker and rofl meme everyone involved. I literally giggled and clapped. I'm 34....thats weird. But it gave me good vibes. Which is what this thread is about. Happy flow, good feelings, joy.
Want to know what brings me the most good vibes? Watching my kid figure things out. Watching his brain work. Put things together, take them apart, make it fit, hug the cat, climb the chair, ask for help because he hasn't quite masterd climbing down the chair, count, abc, the glee in his eyes when we light up the Christmas tree after supper every night. Thats good vibes man. Thats joy. Thats what keeps me mellow.
And for more? I get to watch it all from the beginning again in June. #2 is on the way.

Re: The Good Vibes Thread
I've been having a blast in EE, especially since the 25% bossdrop tweak and/or the Portal room opening up. Not actually sure which is the more important of the two, but it's given us the Wave, a vibrant mostly-Switzerland to start RP relationships.
I have the attention span of a mayfly on meth, so the detailed RP/faction/plot/event part of Amia is and will probably always be something I am peripheral to, but what I've admired about Amia since coming here (15 years and a month ago) is the commitment to keeping the range of player style and expectation as wide as possible before it breaks. On the rare occasions I want my character to stand and reference deep FR lore or talk about his feelings for five hours straight, I can find people that dig that, and on the rare occasions where those people just want to smash stuff, I can give them a hand.
And there's no swear filter.

Re: The Good Vibes Thread
Not gonna lie, I had almost given up on playing NWN again like the old days.
The game's always been around for me, but that spark, that feeling of actually wanting to go in with a character and log back in every day?
That's a thing that I didn't think I'd feel again.
And yet here I am...
... and Steam is telling me I put 274 hours into NWN in the last 2 weeks.
I regret absolutely nothing.

I wish I was more consistent with my performance of Jhaeliria: some days the train has no brakes, other days the train doesn't move.
Those characters who bring the best potential out of her and get to see me at peak performance are good vibes.
The mage rivalry between Jhaeliria and Naltyrr in particular, a highlight.

There are some days when I have this mental wall and really don't want to log in or do any dev work for some reason, but every time I do, I have a great time. Without fail. I too was one of those people who gave up on nwn in the past, for various reasons, but I've said it before and I'll say it again- when I found out Amia migrated to EE, I reinstalled nwnee that day. It was the memories of good times past that brought me back, and like you, I regret absolutely nothing.
You guys are awesome- players, ADT, and DMs all. It's been a pleasure to return, to roleplay with old friends, and to work with the Team and players on pushing Amia's plots.
I hope there are many, many more good memories to come, and for the first time in a long time, I am certain there will be.

i miss amia so much, work keeps me from having free time, and i daydream of snowy brog, of the cities, of prismatic and red dragons...
