A thread for DM announcement shenanigans.

I am officially off DM'ly duty for the time being! Please direct any questions you would normally send my way to any other member of the DM Team! I'ma have a baby sometime in the coming days and I'm taking this time to relax, and then have a bit of maternity leave from DM stuff. You'll probably still see me now and then playerside, though. Let's be real.

Leathan has shifted into the Inactive DM role due to life being excessively difficult. Hopefully he can come back to active duty soon! Wish him luck and good tidings! He'll not be available for the time being for DM'ly things.

On the other hand, I will be slowly easing back into my DM'ly duties. I've been doing mostly forum stuff when I get a chance, but after this week you should start seeing me in-game again!

Mahtan has moved into the Inactive DM role for now. RL has accosted him and stress is real. So he'll be out of commission for DM'ly things for now. Hopefully he can return to active duty soon!

Raua has moved into the Inactive DM role, due to RL being RL and making her super busy as she prepares to move out of her homeland. That would be stressful for anyone, so let's wish her luck and let her de-stress as much as she can!

Hey folks,

I've been absent for a while now and it's long overdue that I step down from DM. Real life is weird, and as it is right now, I'm not really finding the time or willpower to bring myself into Amia (so I won't be around much player side either for a while).
I don't know if I'll ever return to the role. My NPCs have long since moved on from Amia, though maybe, just maybe, I'll find a way to bring them back some day.
I've really enjoyed my time as a DM when I was more active. Creating for this community has been a privilege. I hope to see you all around in game some time or another.
Keep having fun and be kind to each other.

Hello, folks!

I am taking a wee break from Admin/Dev/DM'ly things till the end of the year. I definitely need it so I don't burn myself out from doing a bunch of work with the module and such. Part of this time I'll be out of town with Zoltan for family stuff, but otherwise I fully intend to hop in playerside. I'll still be around, but I won't be addressing any admin/moderator business. It's time for me to de-stress!

In addition to this, the entire Dev Team is on break till after the holidays. 2020 is almost over, and I think we're all glad for that! Here's hoping that everyone has a safe and happy holiday and we'll be back in action in January!

Okay! I am back, but I'm going to be in Administrative Developer mode for the foreseeable future due to RL things. I will not be available for regular DM shenanigans, so I'll ask that I be treated like the rest of the Administrative Developers. I just don't have time to run my usual events, I'm afraid, so I'll be focusing the little time I have for non-player activities on Developer/Admin duties (including the module and hak updates). I may be seen DM-side note and then, though.

Since COVID has made this length of time indeterminant.. Hey friends!

Not that I've really been "inactive" in terms of actual activity level, I'm sure you've noticed I'm still pretty active in the forums, and I've never taken a break from Development work. My focus will always be an Administrative Developer role, so my functional activity really hasn't (and still hasn't) changed. I'm around for technical expertise. Love you guys, and hope to keep making things for you to enjoy into the foreseeable future!

Hey, folks! I'm afraid my attempts to DM anyway have been waylaid. I'm stepping down from DM'ing due to RL consuming my time and much of my creative energy.

I will continue to host and manage the server, pushing updates and doing monthly hak updates (except February, as I have been struggling with pain and injury this month). I will also do website and server maintenance where needed (and I'll finish up the job system pages I've been working on, as well as an update to the heads reference page). But this is the extent of my Administrative Developer duties now.

Today I will finish doing the character transfers I have already received, but any new character transfer request forms need to go to Raphel Gray (see this post). He will also be taking care of LETO work.

Regarding Southport and the Kingdom of Cetha: Charles and Amarice are still the points of contact for the settlements. If there are any further changes, they will be announced also.

It has been a pleasure to DM for Amia these past two years. If I ever find the opportunity to return to DM'ing, I'll jump right on it. Have fun and I'll see you in game playerside!

Hello everyone,
This probably doesn't come as a surprise but I'm stepping down as DM. Being a health worker under all this COVID stuff has been a bit too much, I always arrive too tired at home and this has make me been inactive for far too long.
This was probably the best experience I've had in Amia and I hope that, while I was active, I helped to make this amazing world even better for you all.

The Team would like to announce the new administrative role of Dungeon Master Arbiter. This DM will act as the point of contact for the players to share their concerns/complaints about anyone on the staff, and will ensure that issues related to DM/Staff behavior and activity are handled appropriately. He will hold each DM accountable to activity requirements and complaints about their behavior.

As a neutral and trusted, unbiased party among the present Staff, Maverick00053 was chosen for this role.

Maverick will be the one you can contact directly if you have any staff complaints. He will also take more anonymous complaints or concerns through the Amia Feedback Form for the same purpose.

Our new DM Guidelines are visible here for everyone to see now.

With these in mind, the following DMs are stepping down today, with some potentially to return within a couple weeks:

Rafaelmacgyver
TheRogue
Mahtan
Khylaria

Raua will no longer be doing DM duties, but will remain an Administrative Developer.

I will be stepping back in as DM with these new guidelines in mind also. I expect March to be my low activity month, however, and I will not be assigned to any particular faction at this time.

We hope these changes will help move Amia forward and keep us inspired and our listings accurate!

Reminder: There is a form at the beginning of this thread that you can use to apply to be a DM. You can also send the DMs your ideas/plans for one-off (or a small number of) events and be a Guest Story Teller.

As of today, I will be stepping down as a DM and shifting only to Administrative Development, much like Mav is presently. This is mostly because of my limited availability these days. My baby needs more time and my publisher just green-lit a trilogy I proposed, so I don't expect to have much free time for DM'ing. I'll mostly be pushing updates and tweaking things here and there on the back end. Although I'll still play as a player. I probably won't be offering input on requests, either, unless it's specifically needed. Like for dragon-related things or balance that needs my input.

Also I forgot to say Kamina came back from his break on the 1st!

A little bit late on this since I actually made the decision a week or so ago, but I'm stepping down from the team. I just have too much other stuff going on right now to devote any real amount of time to being on the client, and even on the days when I've been able to do so I haven't managed to accomplish anything. I apologize.

Hello, folks! An update is needed! The following DMs have this to announce:

Albacksen will be taking a two-month hiatus due to real life insanity going on. He will return to duty on November 1st.

Kamina will be stepping down. Work and family have all his time and energy, which is completely understandable!

Xantham will be stepping down due to health reasons. We hope very much that he gets better soon!

Arcane Crusader has unfortunately lost access to a computer, so he's presently unable to DM. He hopes that he'll have access to one again soon!
