Risen in the Quags

Post by Arcane Crusader »

*Recent activity in the Quagmires has been noted by many. Emboldened Green Tribe warriors and Mystics with powerful undead servants do daily patrols of the Green Tribes lands. A few brave adventurers have had direct confrontations with these elite skirmishers.. The only question is why suddenly are they this much more powerful and acting totally out of sorts with their traditional ways.*

Casual observers in the swamps would see extra green tribe patrols guarding small crews of lesser green tribe folk, who are digging up the any corpses they run across.

*Ssej Aurix would often be at the gate of the Red Tribe's camp, keeping an eye on these events. Seeing that corpses are actively being collected, his ire with the green tribe only grows. He checks off in his notes collected so far, as well as his speculations of what kind of necromancer, or necromancers, they might be dealing with bolstering the tribe. The lack of care for violation of the dead seems to only fuel his suspicions, but he can't be certain. The god they have marks of, the charms... until he knew more about the charms, he couldn't confirm anything. Thayvians had used people and the camp before, but they're not usually this blatant with their art unless desperate. A rather self-confident Halruuan? Maybe, but it didn't fit the scenario. The Green Tribe was expansionist, but this went outside the norm even further. He could not act much further until he had more answers and others gathered to actually take another look into the green tribe's acts. He'd bide his time, for now. Justice would be done.*

When not overseeing the supply chain and guard shifts, Kurchin often heads out in the swamps to scout, generally keeping out of sight from the green tribe patrols, or trying to at least when not in the occasional skirmish. Still, in his trips, he mostly keeps to observation.
Beyond that, he moves around between the warren and the Red Tribe camp, checking to see what any of them need.

Vuthamolik would merely continue his usual patrols and guard shifts, himself. Non-lethal as always, disarming any Green Tribe and offering them the Olive Branch of Peace to take back to their leaders should they wish. Of course, any and all tools of destruction were confiscated. And any whom failed to surrender or flee would be restrained and left to the actions of their Kin.

Upon seeing the attempted retrieval of Corpses, though, Vuthamolik would start making an effort at bringing up any himself from then on, even if it was strenuous effort for the normally laid back behemoth. Should they fail to respond to a Raise Dead scroll, he'd merely give them Pyre on the spot. Making sure the remains were sufficiently ash before continuing.
